Brady Bacon – USAC Title Defense Starts This Week!

(Bill W) February 17, 2015 – Defending USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series champion Brady Bacon will start his title defense this week in Florida. Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala will play host to USAC Thursday through Saturday. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma driver now living in Winchester, Indiana will again team with the Hoffman Racing #69 team.

Last year’s championship was Brady’s first with USAC. “It was an honor to win the USAC title, especially for the Hoffman family,” he says. “Obviously, it’s exciting to win your first national championship, but it was also great to get the Hoffman family their tenth championship.”

Brady won the series’ opener in 2014 at Bubba Raceway Park. He added big wins at Port Royal Speedway in Pennsylvania, the Terre Haute Action Track in Indiana and a victory at the 4-Crown at Eldora Speedway in Ohio. Consistency was the key in the championship run, and Brady picked up fourteen podium finishes.

He knows it will be tough to duplicate his strong 2014 season. “Hopefully, we can repeat,” says Brady. “It’s definitely not easy. We really hit our stride there towards the middle to the end of the year, and we were able to carry that momentum the rest of the way. Hopefully, we can get things going right away in Florida this week.”

Three nights at Ocala will preceded three more at East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa. Brady’s first trip to East Bay will be February 26-28. East Bay has put up a $5,000 bonus for any driver sweeping the three nights of action. The USAC sprint car schedule will include over 40 events in 2015.
